Welcome to the Broadland Youth Choir Website

The award winning Broadland Youth Choir is one of the most highly regarded Youth choirs in Britain. Formed in 1992, to provide young singers in Norfolk with the opportunity to join together in music-making that is enjoyable and of the highest quality.

The choir members, who rehearse in the village of Salhouse, are children from around the County of Norfolk. They range in age from 7 - 18 years. The whole choir consists of approx 40 children divided into a Junior section, aged 7 to 11/12, and a Senior section

Their latest success includes, Juniors - a Highly Commended Performance, Whole Choir - a Highly Commended Performance Plus, and Senior Choir - Outstanding Performance certificates at the Norfolk County Music Festival 2014. The junior choir appeared once more in the finals of the Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod in 2013.

The choir has performed at the Theatre Royal in Norwich performing in the Bill Kenwright Ltd productions of "Whistle Down The Wind", "Evita", and "Jekyll and Hyde". They have also performed as the "Joseph" choir at Norwich, Ipswich and Lowestoft.

To use a quote to the Eastern Daily Press newspaper from the Choir Musical Director, Carole Tims:-

"BYC regularly perform in concerts, local and international competitions, besides weddings and social functions.  If you enjoy singing and want to work to a high standard, are willing to commit yourself to a regular term time rehearsal schedule, are of school age and in full time education, then this may be for you!

BYC has a rich and varied repertoire which challenges, enraptures and stretches our young singers whilst always taking great care with young voices.

It's fun, it's dynamic, it's friendly and being part of a choir teaches you much more than singing"
